On 26th September 2012 BBC Media Action hosted a panel discussion in London on the role of media in improving transparency and accountability in Africa. The discussion focused on the successes and challenges encountered by the BBC Media Action programme, 'A National Conversation', which has projects in Angola, Tanzania and Sierra Leone. A National Conversation supports media, in particular local and national radio, to enable citizens to engage with their elected representatives and hold them to account.
